Broader Assessment of Energy in New York City

The Earth Institute and the Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy program present “A Broader Assessment of Energy in New York City.” The panel discussion will focus on what policies and management techniques are needed from different stakeholders to solve the energy crisis of the 21st century.  Energy in New York City is one of the greatest challenges our leaders will tackle in the coming years. The environmental challenges of the 21st century, due to heavy dependence on fossil fuel, lack of energy efficiency and conservation, also pose serious threats.  This esteemed panel of experts will discuss how we can better manage our finite resources by providing solutions to these complex energy problems.

A Path Forward on Energy Policy

Major energy policy changes are on the horizon as U.S. policymakers grapple with climate change, fossil fuel trends, and shifting business models in the energy sector. States, cities, companies, and other groups around the country are finding innovative ways to rethink energy economics and alter the way we use energy. At this day-long conference, noted experts from government, the private sector, and academia will discuss what to expect as the energy landscape rapidly evolves.
