Two Energy-Related IMAC Opportunities

– Rachel Boynton’s gripping new documentary Big Men, about the Kosmos Energy exploration in Ghana, is showing in New York next week and she is offering to do a Q&A with students on the afternoon of Thursday April 3 at the IFC Cinema in Greenwich Village (just down on sixth ave and Waverly). The screening will be at 1:40pm so the talkback with Boynton would be around 3pm. She has footage from the Niger Delta and got a lot of corporate access as the negotiations and allegations of corruption were taking place.

– Legendary investigative journalist Ken Silverstein’s new book “The Secret World of Oil” is coming out soon and we are inviting him up to SIPA. Silverstein is highly well regarded and has written extensively on Africa for the LA Times and other publications.

If you are interested in either of these events, please email Anya Schiffrin acs76@columbia.edu  and/or our IMAC program assistant Robyn Waserman on rbw2131@columbia.edu
